Weekly Advice And Partial Absence

Hello everyone! I watched Hector and Ids upload their third solo help video and it made me realize how much I haven’t been able to be as active as I normally am. I haven’t been leaving any comments really on people’s riffs on their youtube pages, I haven’t been very responsive on the forums, and I hardly post my own riffs.
My singer (as some of you know she’s blind and can’t drive) is still in school for another two weeks. Because her school is so far away, for three days a week I’m putting in 12 hour days without being able to take my guitar anymore and for two days out of the week, I drive her to her work and act as her assistant for her clients because she can’t read the intake forms and stuff. And on those days I’m helping her with her homework. On top of that I’m still studying for my real estate exam and working and today i was so lucky to be able to squeeze in some gym time and actually get a good amount of practicing in.
So roughly for the next two weeks I’m going to be pretty absent. Also, my poor friend has become so overwhelmed with stress from working two jobs and college, that she’s become a top priority as I’m doing everything I can to keep her together at the seams for the next two weeks. Oncology massage is SOOOO fucking intense.
So here is your weekly tip:
Let guitar be fun. Lose yourself in it and don’t take anything too personally towards yourself. Don’t shut yourself down before you give yourself a chance. I’ve been pretty amazed at some things I thought I could never do, and then found out with a little time and extra attention, they came to life. Post up those “bad” videos. And be proud of them. Cherish every mistake you make because it’s not a mistake, it’s a step forward.
Love you all!!
