I doubt I could find the video, but I'm 99%+ certain I remember seeing Paul Gilbert write that song just off the top of his head. I think how it went was he was talking coming up with melodies by writing lyrics and this was an example he thought up.

I was in the mood so I went back and reviewed this whole thread today. We've got a lot of good stuff here. I spent a little bit of time looking for the old thread but couldn't find it.

First, a song that seems like it would fit in this thread perfectly. I'm surprised nobody has posted it yet- Angels, by Within Temptation.

GnR, Better. My overall favorite GnR song. The old classics are great, but this is also great.

I'm stuffing a third song in here because after reviewing this whole thread I came away with the superstitious idea that two-song posts seem to get fewer likes even with good content. Rise Against, "The Good Left Undone".

Ngl, I don’t hate Nickelback. There are better bands out there, sure, but they’re not as bad as people say they are imo
