Guitar Songs for drop D tuning

Wussup everyone!
41.gif

So I have a floyd rose bridge guitar, meaning I married to the drop D tuning.

And it's hard sometimes because a lot of metal music is in standard tuning; I was able to transcribe some songs like the trooper so I could play along with a D tuning version from Youtube

But this method don't work for me for a lot of songs, so I am wondering if there are any people who can relate to this and maybe recommend some songs to learn using this method?

Changing the way I hold my pick

I have been playing guitar for roughly 15 years now. Might I add on and off but I’ve recently noticed that my thumb, holding the pick, is curved in an awkward bend position. It allows me to tremolo pick pretty fast/pinch harmonics are no issue, however the pick becomes less stable and moves quite a bit compared to what I am practicing with the “correct” way to hold a pick now. In your opinion is it worth to even start from scratch or should I just continue on playing this way?

  • Question
How to train little finger?

Hello everyone! I've been playing guitar for almost 5 years, but recently started to use pinky finger(because all guitarists i inspire playing with it). But i have a problem with all of my fingers - they all a little bit curved, especially pinky. I saw how Syn play with his pinky independently of his ring finger. What advices can you tell me about training pinky to play independently of ring finger?

Guitar Why Does A7X Track with TWO Tones

If anyone here has engineering experience, I’m wondering if you can answer a question about A7X guitar tracking:

Lots of their music has the rhythm guitars quad tracked, with two guitar tones (a left and a right of each tone). One tone has boosted highs and a lot of fizz, while the other is a standard mid-heavy guitar tone.

Can someone answer why they do it this way? Is it simply an industry standard for this type of music, just a way to make the guitars cut through together, or maybe a unique decision by the band maybe?

I’m trying to understand the overall reasoning behind it. Why not just get the tone from one amp? Lots of band simply double or quad track a single tone.

Thanks for all your responses, folks.

Guitar Basic Tools for Guitar Maintenance?

Hi everyone, I was wondering what would be some basic tools to maintain my guitar.
Things like hammers, screwdrivers, etc..
For example I saw something about sanding the sharp parts of fret wire, is that regular sandpaper or is a file recommended.
Thinking about gathering tools.
If I wanted to cut my guitar with a saw for the Floyd Rose or the Shape, what kind of saw?
Not planning on doing it but asking questions.
Could be wood filler glue, I think that's a thing and may need that eventually.

Thanks in advance!

Theoretical Key???

So I was messing around in BandLab today with the AI generator and the project was generated in G# Major. I have a notebook full of the notes and chords for scales but I haven't done the # scales yets so i googled it and it came up with this: "G-Sharp major is a theoretical key based on the musical note G#, consisting of the pitches G#, A#, B#, C#, D#, E#, and F" I was taught in class that B# and E# don't exist, so how would they be in G# Major?

Guitar Is there any Schecter Synyster Special with Sustainiac?

Hello Synners,
My name is Elieve. I'm Javi's mom. I'm borrowing my son, Javi's account here.
First of all, I want to thank you all Synners here who has help my son to be who he is now. You guys are all the best. Thank you so much for all of your kindness.

The second is, I would like to ask my question above, because I haven't found the answers on google. Well, we found an adv on IG for a secondhand black Schecter Synyster Special, that said made in south korea. It's a rare item here, that's why next monday we're planning to check it out on the shop. My Husband and I went on google to learn more about this guitar. I also watched Ed's vid about how to taking care of FR, because we haven't got any FR guitar before. But there's something that bothers my mind. The guitar has a sustainiac on the neck. I googled and all were said Syn Special has SD invader but no sustainiac. I still haven't found any clue of it. That's why I decided to ask this here by myself, because some info will be missed if it was told by an 8yo kid. 😅

Below were some the pics that were given by the shop. Do you think it's legit?I'm sorry, no headstock photo yet. But it was said just like Syn Special description. I will check it out next monday.

Thank you so much for your help. 😄

Looking for some help

Hello everyone, fellow sinners, my car recently took a dump and I've been saving but I'm not quite there yet for a reliable car, I'm willing to sell my synyster gates custom S satin gold burst with a hardshell case, its in mint condition. I'm looking for $1200, I figured I would try my community here first before I go to reverb and it just sits there for low ballers. Please help.

Guitar Legato Newbie Question

As title states, I'm trying to learn legato.

I'm a 34 year old working professional and have about an hour a day to practice.

I'm currently learning Syn's Legato 1 lesson.
I'm trying to learn things slow, and am having no issues going descending from the low e string to the high e by using hammer ons, however, when trying to ascend from the high e to low e using pull offs I'm having issues.

lets say in the high e string I have to pull of on 8-7-5, in ascending to the b string do I move all of my fingers to the 8-7-5 of the b string then pull off? Or do I hold my index finger in the 5 of e string while simultaneously pick the 8 on the b string with my pinky then subsequently move my other fingers in the 7 and 5 note?... not sure if i'm making sense.

Guitar Guitar tone

Hi everyone and happy new year!
I recently just listened to metal music, didn't have my guitar near me and I have got a really big problem. I got used to professional guitar tone, so not much the high crispyness, which always triggered me and now I want to achieve these tones, because I want to record some demos and I hate my own tone. It is true that I am using free plugins, but also very cheap digital multieffect. If I will have time later today, I can post some demos of my tone.
Have a nice day everyone and see ya!

Stuck in a Rut

So I’ve been having a bit trouble creating something new. I am stuck doing the same old I - VII - VI chord progressions and riffs that I’ve done before and when I create something new it feels boring and uninteresting. I have been through this before but this time is a bit harder to get out of. Does anyone know how to kinda get out of feeling uninspired and find something to be inspired by?
