    Problem with Cable Jack

I wouldn't try to save the cable myself, you could see if it has one of those life time warranty though and get it replaced under that. The better cables can also be shielded better, which may contribute to less noise coming though on your pedals. Also, the quality of power supply going into...

    Problem with Cable Jack

If the cable is wobbly when you push it in, take the cable out and push that big tab down a bit so it clamps harder. Eventually you will need to replace the socket as that metal does fatigue (or repeat the process every couple of weeks/months). Another thing is to make sure the two nuts on...

    Nylon string hammer ons

I tell you what though, when you do get your hammer on/pull offs working good on an acoustic (nylon or steel); they're easy peasy on the electric :)

Good work :) Especially avoiding the "zomg i lost my pick" panic that I get.. To soften your arm, try anchoring the elbow end of the your forearm to the top edge of guitar and just strum using your forearm (less upper arm). Another thing I do is anchor my pinky like when I do for picking...

How do I keep what I learned, and apply it?

Yup, coz i'm in this category too. I forget songs rather quickly. What I spent most of my time doing was learning the tools rather than songs. What it lets me do is "bluff" my way through things.. ie. Given I know/find out what key the song is, I can guess my way around the chords or I'm...

    Feeling bummed

If you can, try to get into different jam groups. They'll often play different stuff than you are used to and that will make your a better musician. When you go regularly enough some kind of band might be born from it, who knows. The blokes I jam with, used to be a band but have gone through...

Captain Ed's AOTM - The Ultimate Bee Gees

So as part of the deep dive for this, pay attention to some of the lyrics. Given that there's so much funk and disco with this, it's easy to sort of just go with the popy-ness (tm) of it's sound, however, unlike a most pop (esp now a days), you'll find more meaningful stuff there. Stayin'...

    DSL40c problems

#WhatEdSaid +1 for contact cleaner; it's like my 3rd favourite guitar repair tool. When pulling the knob off (if you don't have one of those knob wrenches), make sure you work it from both each side (using a credit card or something) to ease it up.

    Guitar amp question.

The Katana Mini is great, I've been using it for 3yrs. I've recently got a Katana MK2 50 which i can also recommend. The Mini is great just because it forces you to think more of the relatinoship between your guitar and amp.

good stuff ! the only thing I did notice was the angle of your palm muted strumming looks like it will be painful coz of the direction your wrist is cranked.. that might be because you're sitting however.. :)

    Playing with rhythm

    So I can't read music anymore.. maybe 29yrs ago I could.. so you're winning already that you can still read it. Along with what Ed said, for 16th notes, you can do the: 8th Notes: One - And - Two - And - Three - And - Four - And 16th Notes: One - E - And - A - Two - E - And - A - Three - E -...

tbh, I don't entirely know.. my social anxiety isn't something easily solved.. going to @Alicia Willis 's point, perhaps some album which is clearly badged "feedback/progress/help" would be a good place to put riffs like that. Also bringing back personal album might be nice..

yeah there's truth to that too. "Original Riffs" never gave me the impression it was a "gimmie help" area and the student practices doesn't give me the feeling of "let's show the progress on a given lesson" (ie. multiple videos showing progress)
