    Performing Live

I wrote this list for another site. Most of it will be applicable to any situation: Don't put fresh strings on right before the gig. You will have tuning problems. No one is going to hear your mistakes unless you REALLY fuck up bad. If you've practiced a lot, alone and with your band, you...

    7 string guitars

I wound up not liking a 7, partly for that reason, and it’s also why I chose a fairly cheap one. I did sell it after some years of really not getting along with it.

    7 string guitars

I've always had a preference for Ibanez, and I do believe they were first to mass-market a 7 string (the Universe in the 90s), but Schecter also makes a quality 7 string (Diamond Series Omen) for under $500US, as well.

What cab pack use for Hail to the king

Indeed, the 5153 is, if I remember, the model his AxeFX tones are built from, to match his album/live tones. I think I use the 5153 Red myself, but I haven't tinkered in a while.

What cab pack use for Hail to the king

The majority of the tones on that record were the Hellwin amp and cabs. He wasn't using the modeling in the studio at the time, but the Hellwin cabs of from the Syn Cab Pack are the same he used for the HTTK album.

Will you please help me fix my amp

Okay. And what happens when you turn it on. Does the display light up? Can you change presets? If you plug your guitar cord into it, does it buzz at all? The more you say, the easier it is to help. I need you be a little more forthcoming. That or make a short video demonstration, post it to...

🔥 Who's gonna be seeing Syn and PG on May 3rd?? 🔥

Unless something significant catches fire at work, I will be there. I've secretly blocked off the time on my work calendar :-).

    Help please

Welcome. Starting from the very beginning is never a bad idea. Even seasoned players can usually find something useful in that process. Rebuilding from major loss, mental or physical, requires going back to basics and rebuilding from the ground up. BEST OF LUCK, and by all means ask all the...

Guitar I wanna get better as a guitarist as a lead / rhythm

Spend more time with the metronome then, to get used to it. That or drum loops from an app or on youtube. If you can't play to a metronome or click tightly, you're not playing good rhythm. It's not just the notes - the timing is as important or MORE important than the notes.

Guitar I wanna get better as a guitarist as a lead / rhythm

Agree with Josh. While I've been playing for over 35 years and gigged a lot in the 90s, there are some neat things here and there that crop up and surprise you, so it's worth it. The best way to PRACTICE rhythm playing, outside of having a band, is jamming along to the songs you love, paying...
