I don't know for sure, but Steinbergers really didn't come in an "entry level" model, and the only real differences were features. This one looks pretty loaded, so it's probably cool.

Any floating trem can do that to one degree or another. My Floyds, Kiesel, and PRS trems all allow that, and I could set the Music Man up to do that, by I prefer to only be able to push that one down.

It's not a Floyd. They're Steinberger originals. A Floyd will NOT work with a headless guitar. The Standard Steinberger trem is a lot like the one on my Kiesel, but they introduced something in later years called a "Trans-Trem." EVH used on on the 5150 album, I think. The song "Get Up" opens...

I agree! My Destroyerman is for the most part Ibanez's take on the Explorer shape (Destroyer), with elements of their Iceman in it, but all the shortcomings of the Explorer shape are baked right into it. I had no idea until I had to live with it every day how uncomfortable it could actually be...

Ahh, the classic Steinberger! Interesting guitars. I haven't tried one in decades, but it felt REALLY weird. Since that time, my tastes in shapes and feels have become more varied and eclectic, though, and my back hurts more  so maybe that would appeal to me, too??

Buddy of mine has a Breedlove acoustic - really nice guitars. And for metal, you can't go wrong with Ibanez! Nice family!

    Hey everyone!

Welcome! It was good to see you in the stream, and you even got to chat with the Big Man for a moment, if I remember right. We're all ready to help you be the best guitarist you want to be!

    Two New Chords – E & Am – Lesson 13

In some countries, you need to access the site through a VPN to get the videos to work. This is a problem with the provider we use (SoundSlice) and not something we can really do anything about.

    Presence and Resonance

I think that's mostly marketing speak  . That description seems like it flattens the Q-value a little (Q is a measure of how fast the EQ point is rolled up to and away from. So, if you're on your bicycle, a long Q means, "this will be hard, but I can make it up this hill, and it will be...

    Presence and Resonance

They're really just focused EQs. Presence is usually upper mids, right on the border of the high frequencies. Cutting the presence adds depth and mud, mids. Adding presence usually adds more "razor" sharpness to the tone and the attack, but may make high gain tones more "fizzy" if you use too...

    Question about IRs

PS: The Syn Gates Cab Pack is literally a package of IRs, for reference.

    Question about IRs

I used to have an old solid state head, a Fender M-80. Since it wasn't tube, I knew I could plug it directly into my audio interface to record without damaging it. With it tuned to "my tone" through my 4x12 cabinet, it sounded exquisite to my ears. Full, deep, chugging, RIFFTASTIC. Plugged in...

    Question about IRs

It is, as Andrei says, an "impulse response." What that actually means is "speaker simulator." Whether it's built-in to your AxeFX hardware, added to it later, or part of Guitar Rig or Bias, or anything from Kemper or Line6, the IR takes your digital signal and puts it through a virtual speaker...

I am 35, should I still develop my musical ear?

50 and still working on it. YES, it is worth it.

    Extreme improv Challenge 👺👺👹👹😱😱

I'm in. Probably needs to be short takes, because no one wants to listen to 8 people do 10-minutes of improv noodling. I mean, we're not Phish.

What are you currently listening to?

This is actually really good nu-metalish stuff. Singer draws a TON of influence from Sting, which you don't hear in heavy music much.
