    Hello

    Welcome Larry!

What are you currently listening to?

Jeff Lynne is an AMAZING songwriter! Lots of great stuff. He was also in the Traveling Wilburys if you want to check that out. POWERHOUSE songwriters in that supergroup.

Oh, we've had plenty of discussions on the Joy of Floyd. I did a (probably too extensive) deep-dive when I changed string gauges and dropped the tuning on my 30 year old Ibanez a while back. We could probably stand to have a simpler one for some folks, either a simple string change, or even a...

SO MUCH PROGRESS!!! I LOVE IT!

What are you currently listening to?

Currently learning this one. There's a fucked up 7/8 section that's tricky to keep if your mind wanders.

What are you currently listening to?

One of the few songs I like on that album.

    AXE FXIII vs. AXEFXII

Newer tech is always better tech. The later AxeFX2 models did get an earlier III firmware, but there have been probably a dozen new firmware iterations since then, each making slight improvements to the overall amp modeling. A IIXL+ is still a staggeringly good modeler. I have and enjoy mine...

Comment by 'Ed Seith' in media '“Seize the day” solo progress from a beginner'

GREAT START!!! Love it! Them's POWERFUL bends, so git the teeny weights on your fingers. Do you even lift, Sis?

Comment by 'Ed Seith' in media 'Avenged Sevenfold - Seize the day (solo) - Zippy Pach'

It may be among the easier Avenged solos to play TECHNICALLY, but it has its own set of demands around timing, feel, vibrato and bends. A first year player can play the first solo in Comfortably Numb just fine. But it will be years before he or she can play it RIGHT, and that doesn't...

How do I clean my fretboard?

If the fretboard is maple (light colored wood), it may have a lacquer-like finish on it. If so, a wet (very damp) rag will do. For anything else, you'll be able to feel the grain of the wood. For that, you can also try a wet rag and maybe add an old toothbrush for scrubbing. If it's REALLY bad...

Here to Prove to my Husband that I CAN learn guitar!

Piano will give you a HUGE leg up on theory, which is very advantageous. Syn is quite the piano player, and as you study a lot of his writing and lead playing, the piano influence on the notes and shapes he chooses becomes more evident. Plus, you appear to have never sold a classic for some...

Second day of practicing major scale with alternate picking!

And thanks for your service, my good man. My boy has about 6 months left in the Corps.

Second day of practicing major scale with alternate picking!

This is a solid start, my man, but I want you to try to keep it one finger per fret. You're in the second position, which means that your index finger should play any note on the second fret, your middle finger anything on the third, ring finger on the fourth, and go ahead and feel the burn on...

I just don't feel like practicing AT ALL this week, but I'm still making sure I *play* every day. Maybe next week practice will return.

GIANT Blister on finger ! What to do ?!?

I usually poke a small hole in it with a pin, drain the fluid, and then put a band-aid over it for a few hours while the loose skin "re-adheres" to the dermis. Then take it off and let the "bubble skin" dry out for a day, then it's playtime.

Maybe buying a Bass... Do I need an amp?

There are no FREE options to connect an analog instrument to a PC. A hardware solution is absolutely required and no one is giving away a physical product.
