Aching thumb when barring with 1st finger

Try to place your thumb in the center of the neck and try to put it where the most pressure is against the fretbord. You can start with playing a barre chord with only the index. Then you can add more fingers in a position that isn’t that stretching. If it’s not clean control every string until...

    Some Friendly Advice Needed

I agree with all the comments here but I want to add some things: Most of the haters are ever jealous or have no idea what they are talking about. For example the person who made the comment about the “two years and not at full speed” has no idea what you are really doing. Because I really...

Every A7X fan here HAS to check out this band

For you metalcore guys, I think you should check out NOVELISTS, they are a french band. Calvin, I can’t really explain, what I didn’t liked. Yeah the power in his voice is awesome.

Every A7X fan here HAS to check out this band

I dig the Wretched and divine album. The voice of a singer is such an important thing for a band. When I was younger a band could play music I really like but if I didn’t liked the singer I wouldn’t even gave them a chance. For example some friends of mine were into Billy Talent but I just...

    Baby Pictures

This is crazy. I was born in 1994. @andrew you have really improved a lot since then. I wish I had recorded myself in my early guitar playing days. I only have videos from that time where some of my friends play guitar.

    Jak's challenge

At the moment I have no idea which backing track I would pick. So choose one Calvin.

    ATTENTION FEMALE GUITAR PLAYERS!!!

I want to do one tomorrow (I hope I find the time), but I don’t know if I will be satisfied enough. The last time I made a video of two minutes it took me at least three hours.

    how to play guitar standing?

It helped me to adjust the neck a bit steeper than it would be in a sitting position. You don’t have to stretch your fretting hand that bad if you do so.

Cool way to keep your motivation

I don’t care about speed much at the moment, but I record myself daily to be able to rewatch what I did.

    when to move on

Yeah exactly. One thing you could do too is you can transfer what you learned to another position or another key (depends on the lesson).

    when to move on

You should have the feeling that you really know what the lesson is about and you can use everything properly. You should be able to play something good to the backing track. I am not that patiant with many lessons and arrived at lesson 60 but now I start over from the beginning and spend tones...

    Help with getting started again.

I have the guitar in midnight sky 🙂 Don’t worry about being worse than before. You will get back to your “normal” level in not much time. Just play everyday and the feeling will get back fast. I don’t no how much you know about theory, but here are awesome lessons about it and they can be really...

    Jak's challenge

My problem is if it comes to modes I’m a bit clueless at the moment. I’m not really caring about modes at the moment. I haven’t even started lerning the minor scales. I mean, I know how it works but I haven’t worked on using them. I am only playing over backing tracks for about 13 days yet. I...

My First Real Guitar Tips Video!

You are so right with all you are saying! Awesome video. The relaxation thing is a big one for me. Sometimes I try to get something faster and I recognized that I try to hard. The end of the story is, that my wrist is tensed up. Then I try to relax it and I get faster without trying it that hard.

    Jak's challenge

I havn’t contributed to this challenge because it’s above my skill level. But this time you chose a backing track I’m playing over everyday for a while now. So my video is not really part of the challenge but I’m improvising over the same backing track. So I thought why not put it here? Day ten...

    About scales… (lesson 7)

Yeah you got it. The C major scale is the scale everyone knows. Like Ed said, the piano is designed around it. All the white piano keys are part of the C major scale.

Need Help With a Rick Beato Lesson

I remember watching the video the frist time and my brain just exploded after about 3 minutes and until now I never got through the whole video. I guess I will give it another try someday 🙂

    About scales… (lesson 7)

You have to keep all the notes in mind, so basically the cromatic scale. If you start with C you have a cromatic scale like: C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B and then you start over again with C. So your major scale is like the others said C D E F G A B and C again. The over notes are not part of...
