Does anyone have the tab for this intro that Syn played at Rock in Rio?

It’s the same key that Buried Alive is in so that’s a good starting point. Also off track a bit, but I love the tone with subtle chorus. Was that just the Sustainiac neck pup with a light chorus?

Other then Avenged, what other shows are you seeing this year?

I saw A7X in January, I’ve got a We Came As Romans date I’ve eyeing so probably that, and maybe Nightwish and In This Moment.

Place to watch lesson videos and tabs

I use Ultimate Guitar and Songsterr in conjunction when I want to learn from tabs. Hearing the tab along with seeing it really helps learn parts in a pinch.

Hammer-ons and pull-offs on the high E string

It definitely requires a lighter touch than the other strings because it’s so thin. Repetition, repetition, repetition. It may sound tedious, but just keep hammering on the note until you start to get closer to how you want it to sound in the end, and then just keep doing it until you’ve got it...

    Just an idea

I’ve got a bandhub but I’m not sure how to work it. I’m SLiNKYMusic

    Just an idea

That would be sweet. Another bounce-off idea along the same lines is maybe Papa Gates or Syn create a backing track for us to play over.

Did anyone start playing because of syn or Brian Sr.?

They weren’t the definitive reason I picked up the guitar, but they’re largely to credit for me getting serious about the instrument.

    Guitar slipping

When I sit, I sit in a seat that puts my legs at a perfectly flat angle. That keeps it from slipping. But I try to practice standing whenever possible. Crossing my legs can also help level the guitar. Judging by your profile pic, you have a Les Paul? I’ve got a larger sized leg, and it’s thicker...

    Advice Needed For My Singer

As Ed said, perception of volume in person and perception of volume on camera are unfortunately often two different things and any number of things can affect volume of voice relative to instruments, such as mic placement, direction, etc. Ed’s solution is very good, recording the vocals on a...

    Schecter similar to syns?

I have a Schecter Avenger that I got from Sweetwater a few years ago. Absolutely love it. It’s perfectly balanced and feels great. The differences between my model and the Syn Gates signature is that the neck on mine is a bit thinner and it’s also scarfed, meaning non-glossed. Personal...

    Pedalboard Love

I’ve seen a lot of posts about guitars and showing off guitars, but not a lot about the next most important piece of tone in everyones’ collection: your pedalboard! Show off your pedalboard here, and tell us all about it and why you love it! I’ll start us off with my humble little board: My...

    THOUGHTS ON 8 STRING

I’d love one. It’s certainly harder to play than a 6 string. Certain skills like muting become much more necessary. But as a return you get a much wider range. I’ve played the guitar in question before and it’s great. You really can’t go wrong with any Schecters over $800.

    Question about harmonics

Tory is right, you can do the same thing with a product called an E-Bow, which cost $100 at guitar center. They essentially do the same thing as a Sustainiac, but the drawbacks are it’s not a permanent installation so you have to hold it when using it and I don’t believe it can work with more...
