Honestly, it depends what you have build into your amp. If your amp gets a decent overdrive a delay/reverb would be my pick. If it has a decent reverb/delay but not a decent overdrive I would go for an overdrive. Then there is the part where it depends on what you would like to play.
Get an amp that already has a decent Overdrive and reverb and If you're Into learning a Lot of different Covers I'd recommend the drop Pedal cause it can artificially downtune your guitar
To be completely honest i couldn't tell you if it actually sounds good. I do not believe it has reverb just a push button for overdrive. Heck i am surprised this amp works found it at goodwill outlet like 2 years ago and when my wife and i decided to learn how to play guitar i dusted it off
I listen to a lot of rock/metal so avenged, amity affliction, as i lay dying, trivium
we use zzsounds to get all our musical stuff so as long as its not ridiculous we could invest like 200 in one

There are a lot more cool pedals out there and @Ed Seith is kind of the expert when it comes to gear so you may want to wait for him to reply and maybe do some research to look for a pedal that gives you the sound you're looking for.

If I were you I'd play around with your amp. Test every effect. Every pedal and amp effect is slightly different. Including the distortion. Matter of personal choice really. From what I've been told your amp gives the beat distortion over a y pedal. But I use an older style pedal that is discontinued for my thicker sounding tones. My amp doesn't have that same fuzzy sound. Once you know what your amp can't do for you.. google or YouTube different pedals you think are neat. If you were gonna get any I'd suggest something to change from clean to distortion. Or something to add.to your lead during solos. I guess it depends how often you play clean or whatever in your style would be. I'd spend a lot of time on it if it's your first. Different brands make different styles of those effects too. You could find one now and find something better later .. etc. Experiment than half the fun.
If I were you, after you do what Calvin said, if you don't like the options on the amp, scrap it and get a small Katana or something, rather than putting pedal after pedal in front of an amp you don't like. Lipstick on a pig and all that.
For what you'd pay for a good pedal or two, you could have something much better.

Definitely want an amp you enjoy I agree. Thatd be step 1 realistically. Hear so many good things about the katana. I still am gonna look into a nextone. Which was released just after the katana was I think. 4 different tube options. Its about the same price too.
Todays amps have so much in them I doubt you really need many pedals unless it was a live jam. Or you have a good foot switch for the amp you got. Me I got a 2 channel.. left and right. That's it. So I use it to switch my pre tones and I use my pedals for everything else. I personally dont use my effects much on my amp.. actually I havent really played much with them.my peavey had a shit ton more effects. Neat ones too the line 6 doesnt have. If you're short on cash that may be the ideal route over buying pedals.

+1 on the Katana Mini -- it's what I use, really simple but good sounding. Especially for when you're starting out. Means you will learn how to shape and find the different tones/pickup combinations on your guitar quicker and for what purpose. It also has reverb and delay in it.
