I am so sorry I haven’t been very active. Of course with the holidays everyone was busy, but I got kind of sick to where doing anything was a nightmare of a task. I’ve been promising the student project for a while now and unfortunately when working on it today, I had to email a few students because some of their links didn’t come through or they were blocked or broken. So we’re just waiting on that now 🙂
I love seeing that we have new members and more awesome riffage going on!! And speaking of new members, I’m thinking about really making a video where it would be the beginners’ time to shine. I may or may not be yanking an idea from $yn, but I really really REALLY have found a lot of help in Rowan’s advice in two separate videos she gave. And they’ve helped me immensely. I thought for another student project, it would give the beginners specifically a platform where they could share with us their tips and encouragement for starting and beginning. This would almost be moreso like an encouragement video for those who are also beginning, just starting, or are too nervous to, and would be in the same style like the first testimonial video.
What do you guys think?
Also, thank you all SO much who helped me out in my last post about the confusion of Dminor/Dmajor lick. It helped a ton!!
With my own endeavors at hand, I’m more motivated than ever to take these lessons seriously. What have you all been working on? Anything interesting you’ve learned or are trying to learn?
Much love, fellow $ynners!

I’m good. Tired. But good. Recently my drummer and I have been trying out our ears in figuring out Second Heartbeat. I myself just have the fast shreddy stuff in the solo left to learn. And let me tell you it’s a BITCH!!!! My fingers kill me. But it’s fun to work things out like this. And it’s a good learning challenge.

Cool! Hope you feel better!
I honestly have barely been able to play guitar due to a busy schedule but when I have time I’m trying to figure out how to improv over Valley of fire by Jason Becker and keep it interesting for the whole 9 minutes. I have some ideas at the moment(like start playing with fingers instead of a pick the last 2-3 minutes or so)

Been practicing the riff for Layla-Eric clapton on my acustic today and must say it’s damn harder than it might sound atleast for someone who didn’t know half the chords for the song yet! but i might be going between that one and to be with you- mr big. and on my electric i think i’m also going to start the loner-Gary Moore! just got alot of sparetime while between jobs as i just quit today.
Also i hope ya’ll have a great evening!
