Error loading the site

I'm having issues opening the site on an Android tablet. I managed to open it in a private browser, it said it couldn't make a secure connection and to contact the owner of the site to fix it.
If I try to open it in a regular tab is doesn't load. I couldn't try to log in on the app to see if it has the same issue.

I couldn't take a screenshot of the error in private mode but this was the error code: NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

College

Sooo, I am not going to be on much and I would have to convince my mom to let me have discord. But I am going to start college soon and with my mental health of being able to multitask which I can’t do that at all. Even though I live on a farm I have been having struggles between farm chores and house chores and keeping up with them and being able to do things I like and keeping things at a decent medium I guess, found a mass in my good testicle and I don’t go back for scans till like the end of the year I think. But if I get discord I will gladly join but until then I will be on my way!!

Coming Back And Wanting To Catch Up

Hey everyone, how have you all been?

I know it's been like, over a month since I've posted. @Christian Schulze and I had done a few of the Worlds Collide chats and we're going to continue to do them, but man I needed a break for a while. I've been really sorting my life out. It's weird what happens when things kind of finally start falling into place. I haven't played guitar much at all because I've been so busy working on my book, among other personal things. But I've noticed that there are a LOT of new faces here, and still some old ones!

So I just wanted to ask the newer students to introduce themselves, and also seeing what the alumnis have been up to here.

Much love everyone!

Practicing

Hey so I’ve been practicing a lot recently (I usually aim for bout 12 hours if not minimum of 10) but since I’ve completed all my assignments and shit I don’t really know what to do besides keep repeating the same things over and over and I don’t feel like that’s the best way to grow any tips or things to practice/ideas?

KIMONO MY HOUSE by Sparks

:syngates:Yo Family! This months #AOTM is Kimono My House by a band that has truly flown under the radar, Sparks.

Finally, a band that I introduced to the Rev. There weren’t many, but I’m proud to have this genius collection of UCLA art grads as one of those few. Can’t take all the credit tho, Papa Gates blessed me with this 3rd eye opening collection of music.

Id prefer that you guys went into this knowing nothing. I will share my thoughts and any stories in the comments section.

Can’t wait to hear the effects of this on all of you!

All my love,

My First Performance Using a Guitar Strap

Hey guyss, I am so happy. Yesterday I got an audition for Prambanan Jazz, it's a quite big event here. The preparation time is short, so I played the comfiest song for me, which is Hail to The King. I've played this hundreds times, but the real challenge is the strap. LOL, I'm so weak. :ROFLMAO:
I use my lightest guitar, my Axion Ibanez (thanks @Ed Seith for the guitar recommendation), but still heavy but thankfully save until the song ended. LOL
Next month I'll be on the next round and performing on the event. I'll be performing For The Love of God on my Reaper. Wish me luck and stronger.💪

Getting down and nerdy 🤓

So, it got me thinking, I want to do college and get a major in like web design, or possibly animation, taking animation in high school was pretty fun, I was thinking about making another video just for the fun of it and all, but I want to start a YOUUUU TUBBEE channel and like post my stop motions on there…but like I haven’t made a YouTube channel yet because I can’t upload anything yet and I want to get better supplies for my stop motion stuff. Other than guitar stop motion seems to be my other hobby, and baby talking to chickens. Other than that I would ask if y’all would subscribe if and when I do get it set up might be a couple of months till then.

(If you want to be a supporter of the farm you can look up my Little sisters YouTube channel and help her get to 100 “describers”)

New here, and new to guitar :)

Hey everyone! Just signed up recently after I learned about this site/school, of course I'm a huge Synyster fan, and I can't tell you how grateful I am that something like this exists! I tried self-teaching acoustic a while ago and it didn't go well, but my passion for learning and wanting to make music has never gone away. I'm a CVICU RN, as well as a freelance artist/illustrator. I'm always looking for new creative outlets since the ICU is a tough place and sometimes I need something more to focus my energy on. I'm a total beginner (I can restart your heart if it stops, but I can't play guitar yet to save my own life) so I would appreciate any advice/feedback as I go. I'm managing my expectations, so at this point if I can end up playing a really metal "Mary had a Little Lamb" I'll be happy. I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you!

Suggestion Accurate Interactive tabs for Avenged songs.

Hello I'd like to start the discussion about accurate interactive tabs for many Avenged Sevenfold songs. As many of you know alot of these songs are very technical, not having a proper tab only adds to the stress of learning a song.
Interactive/Pro tabs also relive some of the stress of learning songs I think I would be a great feature.

Can Anyone Identify This Guitar?

For Context this image was taken from the studio session on the making of “Brompton Cocktail

When searching via image on Google there are far too many options for me to single one out to be for sure. I know it isn’t an Ibanez headstock so that rules that out. A result I found was 2003 Fender Showmaster Custom Shop however I can neither confirm or deny this. If anyone else can figure out please let me know

Venting

So recently ive been looking at how my arm is for my fretting hand and its very hard to explain but I don’t think in the right posture or position of my arm I know it takes a lot of time to get it used to but like when I stand up to play I can’t get my fingers to hit the right strings without hitting another string It’s bugging me because I’m learning a song and I struggle to get my fingers spread enough from the first fret to the third and then the fifth fret and then I look at my thumb and I end up pressing against the back of the fret board. 😩😮💨
There is more but like it irrelevant. Help meeeeeeee how do you guys play and stuff, I mean I don’t want to end up being in a bad habit way

HAPPY BIRTHDAY :))

a little over a couple months ago, I was assigned to learn Bat Country for my band’s School of Rock (from tustin area :DD). i had heard of A7X but being a little immmature in my musical style and inspiration, i never listened to them at all. for four years i thought A7X was one of those overrated bands that was actually fine. i think I internally fainted after i heard the solo for the first time, and i instantly fell in love with the band. i grinded two hours of practice every day, just to get the solo perfect (the first week the band couldn’t get past the breakdown section), and then the final performance came. i wasn’t sure I was gonna have as much fun as I was going to have, as I had practiced the night before until 1 in the morning, until my hands were red. but alas, all things came to a close, now @Syn Gates is one of the reasons I play guitar in the first place, happy fuckin birthday :DDD

A Cautionary Tale

Hey everyone, so I started playing guitar in 2010 when I was 10 but didn't start taking it seriously until 2019, started actually practicing different techniques and improving all around. Got to the point where I was miles better than I used to be. Could actually play some very hard stuff pretty well. Even got the scream solo down at one point and even most of paradigm.

However, I made a fatal mistake. One day I decide to start learning a piece of In the Name of God by Dream Theater. Stopped practicing my usual routine and pretty much just focused on that. Found that I wasn't getting better and eventually noticed that when I tried playing old stuff I was very proficient at I couldn't. It was as if all the years of practice never happened. To make it worse my fretting hand felt very off and I was actually worse than before I had even started practicing. My hand felt as if something was wrong with it

But my theory is I practiced the DT song with bad habits for so long that it messed up my fretting hand.

It was pretty devastating and at some points I even felt like just giving up and not even trying to get good again. I tried seeking advice from some pretty good guitarists but unfortunately none could really help. Its hard to describe just how bad it feels to go from being able to play a lot of syns stuff to barely being able to play the simplest stuff but it's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

At this point I've gotten back to my routine and am playing everything at like around 30 bpm (I was able to play most stuff at around 220 bpm before)

Hopefully I'll be able to get my skill back but it'll take awhile tbh , probably a couple years it feels like.

Whole point of me posting this is to advise anyone out there with a routine to keep at it. And most definitely make sure you're playing with proper technique! Would hate for what happened to me to happen to anyone else :/
