I’m thinking about writing my own song soon for the first time, and my music theory is not very good. I came up with a riff which I’m going to build my song around. I know it would be very helpful to have good music theory knowledge to write a song, but can you write a decent song with next to no knowledge about music theory and just experiment and go with whatever sounds good? Thanks!

Heres a question for everyone, and I’d love to get Papa Gates and Syn’s opinion on this as well. When you are a professional musician (or trying to be) what do you find is the most efficient practice routine to practice everything you need/want to? How do you manage your time?

Hey, I’ve been playing for about three years and only started for fun (and because I looked up to certain guitar Players like syn), so I was never very interested in learning theory and rather just studied what I liked. Also I hated School in Music so I can’t even read notes (yet).
So with this School I want to get into Theory more, but is there anything to start and Keep me motivated? I saw the Videos to the guitar layout and the first scale, but don’t know what to do with it. Any tips for an absolut beginner in Theory?
