Guitar Guitar strings hard to press?

Hi, Synners! I'm an absolute BABY in the guitar world. I started wanting to learn guitar because of syn and well, i bought a beginners one (low budget) cuz alot of reviews said it was a good guitar to start with.

But im having trouble with pressing the strings. I have to put alot, ALOT of pressure.

My boyfriend also just started guitar but he went and tried to play mine to compare mine with his guitar. He said one or two strings feel too "stiff" and are hard to press. He doesn't know whats the cause of this cuz he's new to this too. The shop i got it at is closed because of lockdown.

I will put some pictures and i hope someone can help me! ❤

How about creating some progress videos for next year? : )

Hey everybody, would you be interested making some progress videos for next year? Pick any etude or etudes, record yourself playing it in the bpm you are able to, upload it, practice it through the year and the end of 2022 (or anytime you want) upload a new one showing how much better you become... so we can all clap and be jealous of each other : D

Any thoughts? : )

Play A Song 100 Times?

Hey everyone! I was just curious if any of you have heard of the "play a song 100 times to get it performance ready" idea. I have found it really helpful that instead of bouncing around from song to song, and trying to learn 10 songs at once, I focus on one song, learn it, and play it 100 times before I move on to the next one. It's really allowed me to calm myself down, feel the beat of the song, truly sit in it and get comfortable, and improve my technique.

For example, I'm learning Enter Sandman right now, and I played it pretty well about 15 times, but it wasn't until the 22nd time that I was like "Wait, I HEAR something now I'm leaving out! I'm gonna go back, delve into it, and learn it!"

Right now I'm working it up to 50 times sitting down, and then I'm gonna play it 50 times standing up.

Have you tried this before? It really has helped me not have to think about the song, and my muscles know what to do automatically, and I also don't have to worry about how long I've actually practiced it.

PS: I'm making molasses cookies for @megalizzie 's performance tonight. :)

Please Tell Me You Hear This Too!

I know it's SOOO random but I'm learning this song and I went to go search this video for James' finger positioning and I about peed my pants laughing so hard at 2:08. I thought James decided to go all Justin Hawkins and hit a wild note. But it's Kirk's fucking vibrato! I wasn't watching the video, I was watching my hands on the neck and it was the most epic knee-jerk reaction I've ever had :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Guitar Synyster Gates Custom-S Whammy bar loose

Dear community,

A year ago I got the model Synyster Gates Custom-S, which I am very satisfied with.
Some time ago, a little issue came up, though: the whammy bar has gotten loose. Even when the screw nut is tightened (the screw nut inside of the guitar), it gets loose again after a few times using the whammy bar-you can see it on this video:

Another thing is, that the springs of Floyd rose kind of squeak (which can be observed in the video).

Any of you having the same issue/ recommendation how to fix this?

Question for people who completed all lessons on synner...

Hi, I'm currently on the beginner lessons in synner. I'm not a beginner because I've been playing for almost 2 years and on this site I've seen lessons about technique and there's Syn's etudes as well. For now, I wanna play guitar for fun and to be able to play the songs I like. So I'm feeling like I should skip the theory lessons right now and watch the technique lessons to improve my technique but I will get back to the theory lessons later. My question is for someone who's completed all synner lessons, if i go straight into the technique lessons will Papa gates be talking about theory because I will get confused then as I skipped theory lessons and in the theory lessons are there any important technique tips because then I will make sure to watch that. Thanks :)

  • Question
Scales

I've been learn theory on synner.com and I have some questions about scales because that's mostly the main topic of the lessons I'm taking right now (CAGED system pt 1).
Now these questions are kinda stupid because I sometimes get distracted from the lesson and hate rewinding so now bear with me ;-:. So I wanted to know what's the use of scales in playing guitar? And how do you practice them? How do you figure out scales? In CAGED System pt 1 lessons we learn about the major and pentatonic scale of different chord shapes. What's the way of figuring out those scales like there could a formula or something?

Plugins

Hey guys, i dont know if this was already talked about but how many people would be interested to see a Syn plugin? If the man @Syn Gates himself answered i would be stoked, but anyone is welcome to respond. I have been getting into the plugin world lately, and i know he has the cab packs for fractal and such. However is there any chance of say, a STL plugin or Neural DSP one you guys think? They have been putting out some amazing plugins lately. My favorite right now is the Neural Tim Henson one. I just think it would be really cool to have a pack/plugin with alot of syns personal and or favorite tones, without having to buy a pretty expensive fractal. Just my thoughts
