Lesson description

In this lesson we go over the Locrian mode – its scale construction and related chords.

Syn's tips

This ones definitely tough when you don’t have a lot of context because as PG said, it want’s to resolve. You usually want to analyze a mode like this within a chord progression because it sounds a lot better as a set up or tension chord to accentuate the resolution chord. For now just be aware of that concept because it will come up later but I encourage you to discuss more advanced applications for this mode like the famous ii V i(2 5 1) progression in minor and more in the “comments” section above

Grab some great licks from PG’s solo and make em your own by switching em up a little and adding your own unique embellishments.

Share with the class so we can all learn from you!
