Original Songs/Riffs

Here is a riff I re upload. I changed the tempo and added a bridge and a chorus. Let me know your suggestions.

Did a little experiment to see how my riff / song thing sounded in drop d. I slightly changed the chorus to suit drop d and also added a little intro run that kinda plays with the main melody. Sorry for bad camera angle and sloppy playing. To the guys that saw my original riff, tell me if you prefer standard or drop d!

@[5:@Jak Angelescu] @[1427:@Ed Seith] I remembered it! I was jamming and trying to fit the Chords of my F major progression in different styles. Came up with this riff. It's not my original progression but I am still using most of my chords in there. Especially focused on the Dm and Gm triad. I know @[4668:@Alicia Willis] really likes that minor sound :P

Just worked a little with the progression I created last time and tried to make something out of it. I am also finally through with the CAGED lessons! Taking them seriously helped me tons to get somewhere as a musician.

Here is a fun little section from my upcoming song Eris! I tried to keep voice leading in mind by using these arpeggios shapes, so even though some of these shapes are quite difficult to keep clean, It adds a cool effect by keeping all the arpeggios in roughly the same region of the fretboard! I wrote this clean intro a while ago with the help of the CAGED System and did a chord analysis on it. Now I took the challenge to write a fitting melodic lead solo over it. Key is Dm. Tell me what you think of it!

My very first original song. I recorded all the guitars myself using Reaper and that part is basicly done, although I am not 100% happy with everything, however I feel I really need some good drums for it and probably bass. However, I can't record MIDI drums myself (yet) I also made a forum post about it, so make sure to check that out as well!

Song in Cm, a rarity in hard rock. Hopefully this illustrates that this particular key gives an opportunity to show that a simple open G makes for a nice slam chord...somewhere in the song. :)

Whenever I have time, I like to do quick recordings of my rough ideas with drum tracks, so I don't forget them. I have had completed songs, and if I didn't "practice" them enough, some went down the memory hole, lol. I do not actually like singing but I do the filler vocals to map the melodies and lyrics on these scratch recordings. Maybe I can get time to recruit an actual vocalist and get around to recording these tunes "for real." Lot of jokers on Craigs though. Song is primarily in Am but with lead-ins in A major which help bridge to the guitar solo in F#m: Bm7-C#m7-F#m (sort of a B Dorian feel) before going back to Am.

A guitar solo i created for Jenn's song. This was my first ever guitar solo challenge and I loved creating a solo for this amazing song of Jenn's.. I am really and truly grateful for the family I have here at the Synyster Gates School. I learned everything from here, I wanna thank everyone in my family here. I love connecting here with my family and learning from each and everyone. It gives me extreme joy and happiness.

A friend asked me to write a guitar track for his lyrics. The song will be metal but more on the sad / ballad side. This is the clean intro for it and I am super proud of it.
