Riffs

Hope this is what you ment @[5:@Jak Angelescu] . I first played the chords, then soloed "over" it. Only that I played an Am instead of a C. Also my dumb ass played an F pentatonic over the G chord. Oh well...
This is a loop cover I did for a competition. The solo at the end is improv 😅 mainly using pentatonics from the CAGED system i learnt on here. Let me know what you think, any tips to improve would be great. I want to start doing more covers like this and make them better!
Still not comfortable doing improvs, but I think I had some nice moments in there. This time without backing track to switch it up a bit more. Also focusing again on using embellishments to make it more interesting.

Just a little experiment I had in mind. Coincidentally that is the song I learned in my very first Jam session with a good buddy of mine!

Here's my brief take on lesson 53, plus some questions I've got (at the end of the vid!). Not gonna lie, today was a bit rough because I started to doubt myself a little in terms of my ability, so I didn't get as much done as I wanted to. Hopefully I'll be able to push that aside and press on tomorrow. If anyone can give me some advice or critique my current playing technique (picking hand, fretting hand, guitar positioning, anything like that), please do so. It's been driving me crazy today as I just don't know whether I'm on the right track. Cheers all!
Had to upload it via Youtube...instagram does not allow me to post it here, dont know why.
So here's me showing you one of my favorite Metallica licks and breaking it down. It's taken from the song "My Apocalypse" and has some interesting things going on. In fact it's so tricky that Kirk Hammett stated he needs to practice it a lot so he won't mess it up live. Hope you enjoy and I would love to see you try it!
Repost of material lost in the site update. Not bad for only getting 2 minutes to warm up lol
Repost since this was removed with the site update. My first time performing in over a year, and my first attempt at this monster of a song! I was expecting to have at least 30 minutes to warm up for the 2 son...
Repost of old material that was lost in the site upgrade. Very proud of what I achieved, even though I learned the middle of the solo is totally wrong LOL
Here it is, my first original lick - using lesson 52! I know it's not the greatest, it's not shredding and some of it is probably kinda boring, but I'm proud of the progress I've managed to make! Who knew it could be so tough writing a lick over one chord! It's not complete, I improvised the ending because I'd spent all day writing and just kinda burnt out and wanted to jam it already. With that though, I really hope you like it!

Polyphia - G.O.A.T Riff

Dis is sum hard riff.
Some time ago I created a sweep exercised based around the Am pentatonic scale. As @[223:@Millie Imber] took my advice and is attempting to write her own licks and improve her sweeping I made this short video about my sweep exercise.
After doing another CJ's 2 Cents(https://syngates.com/media/cjs-2-cents-lesson-59-overview-of-the-modes.3562/) I had to improv to this.@Jak Angelescu
First proper attempt at an improv solo jam thing! I took the advice of writing my own licks and adding sweeps in, but obviously I needed to take a step back to the basics of learning scales and what notes I can use to write my licks first! So, once I learned this scale, I decided to quickly try jamming it out! After several horrible videos, I finally wrapped my head around what notes sound good with each other. It's not perfect, there's still a few dodgy notes here and there, but given this was complete improv, I think it sounded pretty good! Tomorrow, I'm gonna focus on writing a simple lick to play over this track, then I'll move onto the next position! Very excited!!
Me attempting to use what I learned in Lesson 29 a second time. I made a backing track going back and forth from D to C. I can use two pentatonic scales but have to stay within one position. That was pretty hard and a lot to focus on. Hope it sounds decent at least. Also standing up for @[5:@Jak Angelescu] :P
