What should I practice?
Great advice, everyone!. Hey Kat! Here's my two cents: Pick a simple solo you like and work on it. Try to play it by ear. Pick out the notes and play along with the record. Pinky issues
Practice 10 minutes a day WITHOUT using your index finger. Only use your other 3 fingers. Play some simple chord changes; G C D Am E, etc. Play some scales. Improvise a simple solo. Practice what you would usually practice. This will get your pinky in shape faster than anything. Caution! YOU...- Brian Haner Sr.

Landing Tones - Lesson 3
It's really about safe places to land. So you can start on any note and "noodle" - but you want to end up or "land" on a safe note over a given chord. So - yes - it's always safe to land on D when the chord is a D7. But you could also land on F#, A or C - which are the other notes in a D7 chord...- Brian Haner Sr.

I try to offer the "easiest" fingerings in all of the lessons. That being said - it's all subjective. It's only easier for me. lol. You may find an alternate fingering that's easier for you. Some lessons are clearly more important than others; CAGED, fretboard familiarity, scales, Modes, techniques, etc. Once you get to the Advanced section, you might want to skim over certain concepts that you don't care for. Soloing Over Chords
Some GREAT advice on this thread. I love the idea of just playing the roots of the chords. Then tie them together with an in-between note, e.g. A (C) D or A (E) D. Gotta crawl before you walk and walk before you run. Know your arpeggios and then begin filling in with those in-between notes. And...- Brian Haner Sr.
