There are a lot of things that need to change about the broken system in place. We really don't NEED labels anymore, except because of the exclusive access they have to some promotional means (radio, including satellite radio, etc). I still have hope that a band the size of Avenged will seize...
No matter what you do on the guitar, a smaller amount every day will always be more beneficial than a large block of time once a week. 10 minutes every day (totaling 70 minutes per week) will be more effective - MUCH more effective - than two hours (120 minutes) once a week.
There's a widely held belief that going down to the crossroads and selling your soul to the devil in exchange for fame is a metaphor for heroin. PG could probably get more into that than I could, but it makes sense to me.
My first modeler was a POD HD500. There are things (like pitch shifting) that it did WAY better than the AxeFXIIXL+, but in the end I felt the cab simulations were terrible quality and they didn't let you add aftermarket IRs. The cabs were probably great for most people, but with my unorthodox...

But seriously, I *could* get one, and it wouldn't be an issue. The only issue is the cost, and I don't mean the purchase price. Not every cost is measured in dollars. And sometimes the ones that are... are doubled.
Thanks. I know the AxeFX has looper functionality, but to use it right, I'd have to use scenes in one preset, and I've tried to do that, but I use too many different amps and effects to be able to do that without overloading the CPU. Damn reverbs...
It's definitely "old school" metal - I took my daughter to the Book of Souls tour in 2017, and she called them "Dad Rock" (but she fell in love with openers Ghost), but man, that these guys are still fire almost 40 YEARS after this live album was done? Shit. Not sure anyone else alive could do...
Great song, great performance, but it's been done to death and it's on EVERY live Maiden album. I never skip a single song, but I wouldn't consider that a standout for me. Thanks!
Scream for me, Long Beach!
If you were a metal fan in the 1980s and you didn't know this rallying cry, then you weren't a metal fan in the 80s. It really was that ubiquitous. Released 36 years ago this week, Live After Death is, quite simply, the best live heavy metal album ever made. Filmed...
My wife was raised in a religion that believed there were no "non-members, only future members." In other words, everyone was, whether they knew it or not.
I say this not to proselytize, but because it also applies to guitar in songs. Every song is a guitar song, whether it knows it or not...
Once you're on stage, the only thing you have control over is you, so that's all you should be thinking about. You and the FUCK YOU you brought with you. It goes by a lotta names, but #WhatPGSaid is it - it REQUIRES a healthy bit of ego to be onstage successfully. That stage fright is part of...
