First, agree with Calvin completely - 95% of a song is the rhythm, and learning only solos is depriving yourself of greatness. Second. Your rhythm playing is excellent. You did a great job on this song. The tone is fantastic, and your playing is consistent and confident. The solo, you're on a...

How many songs do you learn at one time?

It was just a matter of necessity when I did the STP gig. I'd put 5-6 songs in their own playlist and listen to them over and over for a couple days, to get familiar with the feel and the changes. Then, as I learned each part (verse, chorus, etc), I'd make a chart of the arrangement - Intro 3x...

How many songs do you learn at one time?

If I'm doing it because I want to learn some songs, 1-2. When I'm doing it for a gig, maybe 5-6 at a time, but I don't learn solos then.

EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED, "Does anyone here use Cubase? I have setup my studio but I am having an issue, almost like a noise gate issue..."

Reaper technically isn't free, but the "trial version" is full-featured and doesn't expire. You're on your honor to pay for it when you can. It's only $60 US, though they are officially considering it free during the outbreak.

Progress is not a Ferrari. It is a tractor, lumbering slowly but steadily along to its destination, pissing off everyone stuck behind it. Keep rolling!

It's okay, Chris. These are strange days. I look forward to it, when you're able. Thanks!

You are FAR too kind! Thank you. The guitar is a 2009 Les Paul Traditional Pro II. One of the few guitars I've bought that kept its original pickups. I have added a string tree and replaced the nut with a Tusq XL for tuning stability. It is otherwise bone stock, and aside from being heavy as...

These Days - Late night jam with a new tone

I was fiddling with a new and mellower lead tone, and it's versatility struck me. During trying times, I often find myself gravitating to this song, a Bon Jovi classic from 1995, the title track from the album These Days. These Days, indeed. Corona quarantine. This is another one-take wonder...

Does anyone have a7x backing tracks?

@Andrew Fernandes has a bunch. I think I have a few, but not sure where and not sure where to host them to share, either.

What I Did Cuz Of What Dominik Did Cuz Of What Ed Did

Oh, guitarist I hate. Stevie T and Jared Dines. Fine players, but their YT personas make me want to throw a bag of kittens into a road.

    Peak human musical evolution.

I feel stupider and less talented for having watched that. Kids at home, please don't get face tats. Just... fucking... don't.

What I Did Cuz Of What Dominik Did Cuz Of What Ed Did

Yngwie revolutionized a genre and created what was a hugely popular sub-genre in the process (neoclassical). There are NO two ways about it. He was about as influential to a generation of guitar players as Vai, Van Halen, Syn, or anyone else you could name. However, our friend the Swedish...

    Rack gear

    1. My old friend and 2nd guitarist in my 1990-1992 band "Cheap Thrills" had an MP-1 and loved it. Sounded great! 2. I am dying to peel the plastic off the screen of your AxeFX.
