Beginners Corner

Feel pressured or nervous to put your beginning accomplishments up with those shredding out 32nd note sweeps? Firstly, you shouldn't. Secondly, this place is just for you! This is the BEGINNERS spot where you can feel comfortable posting your first riff, song, whatever!
To skip me saying “um” a hundred times, go to 1:05 Trying to play with a backing track 🥴 I still have to learn the bridge to this song.... Also, I think we can all appreciate the fact I look Crush from Finding Nemo on the thumbnail ! 🤣

Atleast I tried 😂😂

Practicing creep by radiohead
I've been practicing the song and somehow wanted to make it my own and made 2 versions, one faster more like the actual song and a slower one. Which one does sound better to you, the slower or the faster version? I can't figure out which one I like best. BTW excuse the background sound, it was windy and also some construction works going on nearby.
I'm a beginner, just 2 months in, so don't expect anything ^^. Trying to clean this up before moving to higher bpm.

I'm keeping on my struggle to improve my technique learning solos. Comments for help are very welcome
Yesterday’s practice trying to improve palm muting. This time I played sitting down because my shoulder is hurting badly
If you guys saw the video of my husband and I, we are working on Unholy Confessions. I wanted to show what one weeks worth of practice has done. I’ve never really seen a lot of improvement with myself like I have over this past week working on this riff with hammer ons, pull offs, and alternate picking. I’m super excited to actually SEE the progress ! Side note, sorry for the screen record. Phone was full and I had already deleted the original from today without thinking 🤦🏼‍♀️

In this video I am playing various strumming patterns of E Major and A minor guitar chords.

first song played, what do u guys think?<3
Punk rock/ pop punk was my first love....aside from classic rock. I’m trying to learn this for my brother ! 😊 I’m pretty happy with how far my palm mutes have come. I’ve found though I have a hard time doing them well on other guitars. I’m most comfortable playing my strat. Also, I know I need to work on alternate strumming....but I mean it’s punk... ya gotta go hard with the down stums 🙃 plus it’s fun and I’m all about having fun ! Haha that being said, I did try to build up some tension and “slowly” go into the open chords.... not sure if I achieved that well enough though.
Here's my first ever attempt at fingerpicking! It's something I never thought I'd find myself doing, so it's gonna be a long road of hard work to get somewhere, but I wanted to be able to show my progress as I keep working at it and improving, so here's the first step! It's messy, it's rambling, it's probably not very clear and there's a whole list of things to work on, but I'm already proud of myself for picking it up in the first place and managing to wrap my head around how the basics work (Thanks to the lessons on here, of course!) I'll be updating with more videos as I go, gonna make this my main little project for a while (Like NRtD was). Hope you enjoy!

The basics | Week 1

Hi all :) Edit: Thanks so much for all the great advice and encouragement, it's awesome! I joined here 5 days ago and this is my progress so far The fastest I can play the chromatic scale is 45bpm at the moment. Question about the chromatic scale... The video in the beginners' section says that, when ascending, you need to read all the accidentals as sharps and descending all the accidentals as flats (for example: D, D#, E, F, F# G and then descending G, G flat, F, E, E flat, D and so on. ) I am not quite in that habit yet.. I already play an instrument and came into the habit of just calling G flat F# for example because it's the same note.. is this a problem?
Probably the most “real and raw” video I’ve uploaded. Took the advice I got on my last video and had been playing all day on my electric. I was getting ready for bed and saw my acoustic sitting in the kitchen and decided to just hop on and attempt a more chill, mellow version. Excuse my tired face ! The melatonin was kicking in 🤣

Keep on trying to play standing up. I love these punk songs to practice because they are short but intense and really fun to play 🎸🤟🏴‍☠️
Working on my vibrato. Vibrato is like the fingerprint of the guitarist and I’m working on finding MY sound 💕 Single notes are a bit different for me as I tend to only play them when I practice scales. I typically always choose songs with open chords or power chords to play, so this is fun and different for me.
Standing up for @[5:@Jak Angelescu] 😘 (the acoustic is light) Intro and main riff.... Playing around with the katana...never really used it but it does give those bass notes a little punch which is cool. Standing up playing this is AWKWARD, but at the same time kind of fun lol. Maybe eventually I’ll look cool doing it ! 😎
Beginner section: Practicing the c major scale and major scale. This is my first training video on the scales. I know I'm still green on the guitar I would like to know what you think and if you could give some tips to improve? Cheers

@[5:@Jak Angelescu] said we should play standing up, so here I go!!! This is my first try 😄 Come on beginners, LET’S STAND UP AND PLAY!! 🤣
In order to expand my musical knowledge I learned all positions of the (C) major scale so I can use the CAGED system and lessons more efficiently. Also training to play standing up, which is quite hard if you haven't done it a lot. Still struggeling playing ANYTHING with my pinky below the twelve.
