Floods solo tutorial (1/2)

A tutorial for the first half or so of the Floods solo
I played around with Minor Chords and made a Chord Progression. The focus is a lot on Minor Chords but as I resolve on an F major I guess you'd refer to it as F major progression? Anyway, here's what I played: My Progression goes I - vi - V - ii - iii - IV The first Chord is the F, next I play D minor. After that I play a C in the A shape and a G in the Dm shape, but I play this one as a triad (correct, @[477:@Ids Schiere] ?), without the bar on the fifth fret. Next I play an A minor in the Em position and then a B flat, connecting nicely back to the F.
I picked this one by ear!!!! Can't believe it!!! ok, there'll be mistakes, but I'm so happy that I had to share it :)
My band did a cover of 'The Middle' by Jimmy Eat World - enjoy! (My singer's Dad makes a special appearance and takes full credit for my solo! haha)

Lately, I’ve really enjoyed just playing around and finding things I like the sound of . Just using simple things I’ve learned in the lessons, like power chords, muting, alternate picking, and the “campfire chords” and just playing around within the little things I do know. This is one of those things, an excerpt taken from my personal practice video where I just messed around and found something I liked.
My rough attempt at Dave Murray’s (the first solo in the song) solo to Iron Maiden’s “The Number of the Beast.” I’ve spent hours on this and still have many ...
Well here it finally IS! My first full cover of a song, suggested to me by @[4668:@Alicia Willis]. Oh boi...this was a challenge. I used a backing track without vocals of the song on youtube...Then I had the GENIOUS idea of adding vocals to it.....and then all went downhill from here....I recorded the audio and video of the guitar in one take, added it to Audacity and noticed the audio is kinda offf.. Thanks to the help of @[477:@Ids Schiere] and @[398:@Filip Tomiša] I realized that it was out of synch and kinda in different BPMs..so I chooped at it and created a ittle mess XD. Well it was a learning experience for sure!
I wrote this clean intro a while ago with the help of the CAGED System and did a chord analysis on it. Now I took the challenge to write a fitting melodic lead solo over it. Key is Dm. Tell me what you think of it!

Jelly - Adieu

Just a jam with some cool parts and changes. Enjoy!
Played over the D-C-G-F progression as PG suggested but to spice it up I changed position on every e string and also played it twice to get even more positions of the pentatonic scales in there. Played to a metronome as suggested in Syn's Tips too
Been playing since march, I feel like my alternate picking and palm muting has already cleaned up a lot. Played with 8th notes at 70 bpm, this is currently about my comfort speed (obviously depends on the songs). I also want to incorporate the chorus riffs into this, but there is still a lot of work to do, may upload my progress on that at some point this weekend. :-)

Just a little something I came up with today. I tried a little picking pattern over the chords and then some mutes. I can’t play exactly what I hear in my head lol but I think it gets the idea across.

Floods - Analysis

The Harmony analysis of Flood by Pantera. I kinda decided that since I'm doing tutorials for the song separately now I'm really gonna primarily focus on the harmony and not so much on explaining the chords and which notes are in the chords used. It kinda makes them a bit shorter too😅

My very first original song. I recorded all the guitars myself using Reaper and that part is basicly done, although I am not 100% happy with everything, however I feel I really need some good drums for it and probably bass. However, I can't record MIDI drums myself (yet) I also made a forum post about it, so make sure to check that out as well!
