It's been a year since I started posting on IG to track my progress on guitar and I was watching some old posts. One of them was this 1st solo of Fade to black. This is a video comparing one year ago with the last one I posted here. I want to say THANK YOU to all of you that have been helping here, because the progress shown here is because of you guys :)

Again...still working on it. Not nailing it, but getting a bit closer I guess...

I picked this one by ear!!!! Can't believe it!!! ok, there'll be mistakes, but I'm so happy that I had to share it :)

The ring and middle fingers of my left hand fall asleep when I play this song standing up...I must be getting old 😂

I'm accepting the challenge of @[513:@Calvin Phillips] and posting my rhythm again. Papa Gates noted that my other video was slightly out of time, I was rushing a little bit and gave some advice. So, again, thank you very much @[11:@Brian Haner Sr.] for your advice. This time I tried to really get the groove and let the notes breathe. Hey 👋. Me again playing this first solo one week later. Not really sure if there’s been any improvement but at least I can say I feel way more confident and that’s a good thing 💪💪

I've been practicing the song and somehow wanted to make it my own and made 2 versions, one faster more like the actual song and a slower one. Which one does sound better to you, the slower or the faster version? I can't figure out which one I like best. BTW excuse the background sound, it was windy and also some construction works going on nearby.

I'm keeping on my struggle to improve my technique learning solos. Comments for help are very welcome

Some weeks ago I asked about easy but a bit challenging solos to help me improve my technique. Some students suggested some cool stuff to start working. I made a list and Californication is the first one of a pretty long list (by suggestion of @[7809:@Jesse Salmons] - thanks my friend 👍) I’ll be learning the full songs, not only the solos. I started working on Californication a few days ago and there’s still some mistakes. The idea is posting again in a few days and check my progress.
