Some personal stuff I'd like to share

That's a brave share, my friend. It's hard, especially for guys, to be open and vulnerable. Maybe your generation is better at it than mine. I certainly know mine is better at it than my father's generation - they don't call them "The Silent Generation" for nothing. Either way, that's progress...

Nice! And bonus points for a PRS - always warms my heart.

That's a lot more improvement than you think it is. Congrats!

    What Ed did

Because it's a brilliant song and anyone who hates it is a monster.

AWESOME! That sounded smooth and sweet!

Comment by 'Ed Seith' in media 'Synner Sundays - Edison's Medicine'

What I really wanted to show here is that even seasoned players have a road to learning a song, and it always starts out really rough. With any song I'm learning, I start with the intros and memorable parts - the verses, choruses, etc. Through repetition, I find the smaller parts, the bridges...

    Synner Sundays - Edison's Medicine

I've been reading the autobiography of Tesla's bassist this week (it's actually a lot better than I expected it to be) and this morning, I was reading about the making of their 3rd album, Psychotic Supper. Edison's Medicine was the lead single from that album, so I decided to start learning it...

Okay, these are all songs I love, and no repeat artists. A: Steve Stevens - Atomic Playboys B: Earth to Andy - The Buffalo C: Radiohead - Creep D: Kansas - Dust in the Wind E: Avenged Sevenfold - Exist F: Annihilator - The Fun Palace G: Cinderella - Gypsy Road H: Hellyeah - Hush I: Ice Nine...

You even got a Rickroll in there. Nicely done! I'll go, too. Back with it shortly! (And My Guitar Lies Bleeding in my Arms is such a great song. Lots of die hard fans hate that album, but I think These Days is Bon Jovi's best album, period. Got me through a real hard time.

    What Ed did

I think, like the post I made about "most hated bands," the Crue gets hate because the Crue gets love. Musically, none of them was ever exceptional, though Sixx can write one hell of a song.

Comment by 'Ed Seith' in media 'Em and G Practice (again...second video of the night)'

Definitely progress. A great way to check yourself for accidental muting is to do that down-stroke strum SUUUPER slow so it's like you're just picking each string separately, and listen for dead notes. Good stuff!

Comment by 'Ed Seith' in media 'Hotel California solo (by 🦻)'

Some off notes, and that first bend is 1-1/2 steps (3 frets) so it takes some real work to get it right. Great so far! Need progress video in a couple weeks!

    What Ed did

Opened for them in the 90s. Was one of my biggest gigs ever. We never met them. Their roadies planted their gear in the middle of the stage before our set, and we were told, in no uncertain terms, that if ANY of it was so much as TOUCHED, our power would be cut and we'd be DONE. The keyboard...

    What Ed did

Bat Out of Hell is a coming of age tale that came out in the 70s. It's fantastic and has some universal themes, but can also be a little dated. Paradise By the Dashboard Light is brilliant, and ALPOH takes some cues from it. The whole album is outstanding if you love 70s rock. It has sold over...

    What Ed did

That would be a man by the name of Jim Steinman. Jim wrote all of Meat's music and lyrics. Meat's just the performer.

Comment by 'Ed Seith' in media '1st minute of Can I Play with Madness Iron Maiden'

Great start! As a long-time Maiden fan who taught myself to play with a Maiden songbook (before this album came out!), I'd love to hear a progress video later on!

To minimize the spread of the infection

You have to be extremely successful to be so hated. I almost expected to see A7X on that list - they are both successful and polarizing. But there wasn't a doubt about who would be on top of it.

I think "Scyther" is where Jak was going, but I never heard that in a Pokémon context, so I didn't get it. A scythe is that lovely long-handled cutting tool the Grim Reaper uses.
