    You can do amazing things with either. But yes, boat on provides more sustain. And…. it’s incredibly sexy compared to a bolt on. That the first thing I remember noticing when I got my first neck thru (it’s a Syn model!)

    What software should I use ? I want to record my guitar.

    For starting out, I highly recommend Reaper! It is free to try but the free trial never really runs out. But if you decide to buy, it’s only $60 I think and is really user friendly. Comes with a download of the users guide and it’s a great reference.

    I think it may also partially depend on your hand/finger size. I see Syn mute top strings with his thumb quite often, but I’m pretty sure he has an abnormally long thumb lol.
