Riffs

A damn hard one. Started working on it 1 week ago. First Syn solo I’ve tried. Still a loooong way to go but I have the gist of it anyway. (Idk why I always pick the hardest things to learn 😂🤷🏼‍♂️)
comments includes twitch video of me figuring out my arpeggios for every chord in the family for b flat. I then play the rhythm for the improv video. It does not include the lead hence this video. Its a long video, but I go over every single caged system position for all the chords in b flat family. Which is essentially your Cmajor family in standard tuning. I'm going to continue to use these positions more and more and will continue to post videos surrounding random chord progressions involving these chords. Excluding the diminished for now. I'm hoping to get suggestions but eventually ill just use all the ones I can find on google. my self critism is to follow.
Just my favourite song and my cover :)

Sweet child o mine

I bluffed part of the solo but here's me playing sweet child o mine. Feedback is very much appreciated!
Not sure if this is rock or not, but I'm putting it here. A few mistakes and I'm not at finger picking or speed stages yet but it's coming along. I was feeling camera shy, hence the mask.
E minor improv

E minor improv

Thoughts? just me lettin it out in e minor some pretty cool licks in there help me to 500 on ig @darealryanv
This reminds me of animals as leaders style, the combination between the maj7 arpeggios with half-diminished arpeggios

SGS Instagram Contest Entry

Hi everyone! I'm Beatriz (you can also call me Bia) and this is my entry for the contest! It's my first video here (hopefully the first of many). I'm a beginner and I'm new to the School, but I'm already loving being a part of this! I am very shy and I was sooo nervous to record this but I did it anyway 😹 So here are some things I would like to point on my video: 1 - Sorry for my English! 2 - Don't mind my grumpy face on some frames (specially when I was playing, I was so focused 😹) 3 - Shoutout to my sister Amanda, she really saved this video of being a complete mess 🙌🏼 4 - I know I talked too much! So here's a quick guide to the most important parts of the video, with timestamps: 00:01 - Introducing myself 00:45 - Lessons I used, why I used it and what I've learned from them 03:15 - The Riff/Song 05:29 - Things I love about the School 06:24 - Music aspirations I loved participating on this! Thanks for this opportunity! P.S: I know the cat totally stole the scene 😹😹
Learning to use the CAGED System better I'm tuned down a half step from E Standard

John mayer trio

So, I learned some john mayer trio songs, then forgot like 50% of the licks/solos so it's kind of a lot of bluffing/messing up but at least I'm standing up 🤣

This was utterly terrifying to make because talking in front of a camera is not my strong suit, but I really, REALLY wanted to branch out and participate in a contest, so, here it is! For my contest entry, I used Lesson 20, Overview of the Pentatonic Scale. I've been having so much fun playing around with it in my practices! :) Okay, that's enough outta me. Good luck, everybody!!!

SGS Insta Contest

Hi Here's my submission. I'm sorry for my english, don't have the habit to talk to my phone and in english, so I eat some words and forgot another even if I was reading and thinking that my speech was so disguisting... 😁 So here what I really want to say : I use the 12 & 13 lessons about the main chords G, E, Am and Em and the tik tok motion, in ordre to put some dynamism. How I play this ? With fun ! I like this School cause people are helping each others with compassion and without judgment. I see clearly that everybody knew he was a beginner one day and would have help like here at this time. For me, to learn playing guitar is essentially for fun and playing some songs. It's also to show to my children that if you want it, you can do it with work, even it's hard. And to show to my 9 years old son some tricks until hé can learn it by himself. I don't expect to play like Syn actually but who knows ? Here is the place to learn that, for sure ! Kenavo, ar wech all !
Hail to the king solo

Hail to the king solo

This is my first video here, I been hearing this song for years and always seemed impossible to play, still improving, what do you guys think?🧐
Wanted to share this with y‘all! Martin Rønning and I covered every little detail in this song AND we both played an additional shreddy solo! 😜

SGS Contest - Lesson 17

Hi everyone! This is my entry for the SGS Contest- I've worked on Lesson 17 from the beginner course. I've tried to include the tik tok pattern while trying to stay in good rhythm. Any advice very welcome! Hope you enjoy! And excuse my grumpy face while playing - can't be focus without it 😁
I might be crazy? But I decided to take the plunge and enter the contest. I'm a beginner, so this isn't anything amazing...but I'm proud of it =)! Good luck to everyone and I encourage beginners to enter!!
Apologies for the length (Solo in first half), and please ignore me saying influences instead of aspirations, I got mixed up. lol. ANYWAY, here it is!! I'm so so SO excited to share this solo because it's the first time I've written my own piece that I'm SO proud of and love the sound of! Compared to my previous solos and improvs, I feel like I've come so far in implementing different techniques (Trills, alternate picking, bends, vibrato, attempted arpeggios!, etc) and being brave enough to slowly venture outside of the scale and add in extra notes! See if you can spot the fun lil Mario passages I borrowed and expanded from, as well as my favourite little Pentatonic picking pattern, and let me know what your favourite part was! Cheers guys, and good luck all! (Also, is it just me or is the vid low quality? I might need to reupload? Please let me know!)
I just watched Lesson 20 and felt like giving improv a try! The backing track is slowed down to like 70% speed, because I'm a little beginner baby when it comes to the Pentatonic scale. But I was freakin' stoked on it, so here's some raw, uncut practice for ya. How am I doin'? Also: LOOK MA, I'M STANDIN' UP LOL

Bflat 1 5 6 4

Watch the video in the comments to see where this came from. I didn't get any suggestions so I Googled and this came up first. So I used my knowledge of my g minor positions to play further up the fret board. I play both variations of each arpeggio I learned (ala the relative minors in the same position). The actual video is longer and I am sorry I didn't hit record on the camera for the YouTube version so the fingering of what im playing is only available in the twitch video. I'll make sure this changes. Next week I'm gonna stretch into the actual scales and not just the arpeggios. I'll also need a new progression idea. If you got one let me know.
This solo is so cool, and a lot of fun to play, I need to learn the second solo as well :)
I decided to keep the video from the first time around, and just edited a part before it. I hope it does the job. If not, its not a big deal to me as well im just here to show my knowledge honestly. Only thing I hate is since the videos were on the phone they are now condensed and annoying looking lol. That can be fixed as I have the originals if needed.
