My Competition Entry

Sorry I'm very awkward talking to the camera haha! For my entry I have taken the teaching from the seven major scale positions and played them in one place on the neck which has helped me learn the shapes and differences better and how to apply them. The backing track is there to show the way they sound over each scales major root tones. For the sixth position halfway through the backing track switches to the relative minor over the same notes just to show the power of relative minor. I touch on it at the end of the video, but my favourite thing about the school is the way there are always people working on their own skills and sharing progress. Seeing people at all skill levels really makes me feel like I can keep pushing to reach the next level in my own playing, and I have gained a lot of confidence thanks to the staff (especially the Instagram) and the word of encouragement I see shared among fellow students. It’s just a lovely community of people learning. Any questions lmk!
Didn't originally plan on uploading this as I started recording stuff this morning just to document my own progress. However, I figured it'd probably help my motivation to put it out there and want to improve on it later! Apologies in advance for my background, rambling, etc. So here we go, me learning the absolute basics, which @[5:@Jak Angelescu] encouraged me to do after one of my vids on Instagram! My next goal is to revisit my Kakariko Village cover thing on my Instagram and learn all of the notes the chords use, so I can gain a better understanding of what I'm doing! I'll also most likely be going back to the CAGED system stuff with this as well! Hopefully this will give me enough to do when I take small breaks from trying to sweep!

Contest entry(blues)

I wrote a blues song for the contest so I relied heavily on PGs masterclass for this. I used lessons 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 for the solo and lessons 7 and 9 for the chords underneath. Lesson two is mostly clear from the use of motifs, 3 and 4 are more on the landing tones and color tones. For example I land in the third quite a lot and combine minor and major thirds over the I chord. The scale I based most of this on is the B minor pentatonic scale with some added notes making it more resemblant of the Dorian mode/voodoo scale over the IV chord. The chords used are B7/E7 and F#7 and when I start strumming I use a G7 in between the F#7 and the E7 making it a color chord. As far as my dreams for music/guitar go I would very much like to make a living as a musician. Preferably a touring musician playing arenas and things like that(I for some reason have a preference for in door shows and prefer to aim high 😅)
Critical Acclaim Both Guitar Solos
Been posting these A7X covers on my instagram lately so might as well share them here to right?
Ik i'm kinda awkward you can skip to 1:59 if you just want the riff & thank you to the people that make these contests happen you rock. I did forget to mention in this though that I practiced those 7 guitar scale positions non stop like a crazy person to the point I can play them fast, slow, eyes close, and any key lol basically just saying to put in the time with these videos guys and practice them till you got it, it's worth it and I promise you'll get better.

Mr. Crowley Cover

I got together with my buddy to do this video. All guitars are me. Vocals are my buddy Sameer. Drum and bass tracks are the originals. Goofy video is just so you have something to look at while you listen. :D Guitar Solo #1 at 1:18 Guitar Solo #2 at 3:05
Soo, I haven't uploaded something in a while, since before the holidays I think. So here is something I learned a couple of weeks ago, the solo to the classic More Than A Feeling by Boston. I feel like my soloing is getting a bit more fluent lately, it is something I'm still working on a lot, getting more fluidity with melodic lines, and get more feel into the bends and long notes. But I think a lot of that just comes with enough time, practice and confidence.
Still can't believe it. Alexi, besides guys like EVH and Synyster, made me discover so many things about guitar, songwriting and metal. I was a fan since my teens. RIP dude...

Rough attempt at the River Dragon Has Come solo by Nevermore. Always wanted to try a Jeff Loomis solo and I’ve been working on this one on and off for a looong time!
So I decided I wanna do some non metal covers on here cuz I obviously don’t just listen to metal lol so I decided to do one of my favourite Beatles songs! I’m missing one part cuz I can’t seem to find a tab for it but I’m slowly working it out by ear! Enjoy ( also I know the bend in the beginning isn’t too good haha)
please excuse the sound quality..thanks!
better sound* I thought it sounded pretty cool with the backing song, it was some random music I put on. Got a new sweater too, just came in. thx mummy!
Figured it out on accident.

This is my participation for the new Riff Contest, here I am using the The harmonic minor scale (Lesson 101) I really like the sound and emotions that this scale transmits. for the arpeggio part I am using the lesson 48 (introduction to building chords) to make a chord progression on that scale and then using the lesson 49 (Building more complicated chords) I started adding some 7th chords to change the sound and make it more "Jazz" What I love of the Syn Gates School is that you can progressively learn guitar no matter your level or skills in a very organized way and having the support of the others students that are always helping to overcome the difficulties. My main aspiration as musician is composing my own music, I love Pinkly Smooth and currently I am composing music inspired by them, maybe some day if you want I can share something of that here Hope you enjoy my participation and thank you for listening!
I started working on this in November last year but was struggling with the motivation to actually finish it and put it out. I was just sitting on bunch of unfinished riffs or ideas in my laptop. I was failing to motivate myself to actually plan out different parts of a song, piece them together and make a final thing. Over the last few days, I decided to get rid of that old habit of not finishing anything. In my mind, this school will be a place to push myself everyday to work on ideas and finishing songs as I go. I will upload each one here from now on just so that I can stop myself from going back to my old ways. With that being siad, I am also working on my song writing skills, learning mixing mastering along the way. So if you notice anything (however little it may be), that can be improved, please let me know. and, if you actually read this full thing, you are truly awesome.
