Some Thoughts On Self-Enrichment (Slightly Guitar Related)

So true. It really boosts your self respect as well. We fail to respect ourselves and prioritize our own goals above others’.

A Fun Way For Us To Learn From Eachother. Thoughts?

Thanks @jak. I am trying to find a way to make this relevant to that lesson 24,25. On it.

A Fun Way For Us To Learn From Eachother. Thoughts?

Here is mine. not necessarily related to the lesson. But you can use it anyways. Jak’s idea on learning licks

Make Mistakes to Grow and Create Great Solos

Thanks everyone. Hopefully more guitarists in this forum start experimenting more and showcase their skills and flaws with equal confidence. I am eager to see what people come up with once they hit record and just let it go. (Of course not on the stage/TV, I made some mistakes on stage in this...

Make Mistakes to Grow and Create Great Solos

Recently I have started making guitar backing tracks. So today, for some reason, I felt like jamming with my own backing track. Something I regret not doing more often. I just hit the record button and improvised non stop. The thing is, I made loads of mistakes, slips etc. I was playing patterns...

    Is tone in the fingers?

I would agree with that to certain extent. Steve Vai himself said in one of his videos that each player creates his/her own sound as soon as the string is picked. Fingers, picking do matter and give each player a distinctive sound.

What Have You Improved On, and What Are Your Goal Songs?

To be honest, I do not have any goal songs at this moment. I am practicing and learning stuff from this school. I am completely focusing on composing guitar solos and instrumentals. I am trying to bring more variety and unpredictability in the solos (trying, trying, trying). I am making a song...

    Tremolo Picking Tips

I am comfortable with the wrist movement. That depend on if I am tremolo picking 1 string only or 2 strings (Metallica style power chords). For 1 string, my thumb and finger movement are enough, and I hold the pick pretty loose. But in the second case, the wrist moves, and the pick is held...

How This Small Change Gives BIG Improvment In Your Playing (Please Read!) :)

So true. I have started working on it more seriously after Syn and you pointed that out in some of my videos. You have almost said everything needed. I will just add one more thing. There have been many posts on this forum about how to add feel to solos. Vibratos are the CHEATCODES to that...

Most Common Things I See That Are Potentially Hindering Your Progress

Same. I am also guilty of this. I don’t know if it is relevant or not. But Still I will mention this. As you said @jak, we students often want to jump to the step where we want to learn all theory or all the intricate solo playing stuff all at once. But that approach, if rushed, often brings...
