    Tools new album leaked

I don’t begrudge anyone who does it, it’s just not my thing anymore. I can wait.

    Tools new album leaked

I’m with Filip. I used to download the leaked albums and boast about how I had it before anyone else, but I later realized it’s not fair to the artists who kill themselves to present it right.

    A little off topic. .

That’s great work you’re doing. I spent 4-5 years volunteering as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children with parents in legal hell. A lot of these kids were abused in ways that would horrify most people. It’s hard work, emotionally draining work, and may Johnny bless you for...

    Bad Habit?

It’s not a bad habit. It’s a style, and a popular one. It’s called “legato.” Lots of prominent players use it as part of their arsenal, but few successfully made it the bulk of their style like the legendary Criss Oliva from Savatage.

Can Someone Do Me A Simple Favor?

Thanks, Papa. I think the bugs plaguing the site since the worst of the hacks (and some have gotten worse) have impacted some of the enthusiasm for the community, so a re-launch will be the shot in the arm we need to go next-level with this. THANK YOU.

    Writing clean parts.

It starts with making chords with your fret hand and picking out individual notes here and there until you find something pleasing. Then change chords and try to use the same pattern. From there, try little embellishments here and there to make it unique and interesting as you play it over and...

    Chugga chugga picking style

I don’t think how you hold the pick matters tons for that, except for where your comfort zone is. Het’s grip works for Het, but that doesn’t mean it’s especially good or great for anyone else, and it’s certainly not “best” for fast downpicking, in a general sense.

I have a question for you guys(the more opinions the better😅)

Any sound card (even on-board) has a built-in MIDI controller, Ids. You just need to figure out how to configure the MIDI interfaces and such. Do you have a drum program?

    Help with 'Camp fire Playing'

Ids is spot on. Campfire playing is not about leads or theory or any of that. It’s about simple chords and strong rhythm for strumming and a group of people singing along together, as long as someone brought drinks, too. Know your open major chords inside out and you’re 75-85% of the way there...

    Afterlife Solo

Oh, believe me, I know, and like I said, I was nitpicking there. You hit some nice vibrato in other parts of the solo, so it’s just a matter of adding the spice you already have!

    Afterlife Solo

Sweet Jesus.. Well done. The closest I can come to criticism, and it’s entirely because I’m jealous :-), is to suggest you try and add some inflection (vibrato) to the notes you briefly hold during the part that starts at :18. Otherwise, it’s time to turn my guitars into coffee tables. Thanks...

How to make seamless transitions between takes

Agreed. If you’re recording the guitar for the verse separately from the guitar from the chorus, then yeah, you need some overlap to blend.

How to make seamless transitions between takes

Sure, Dan. But I have to insist on correct terminology – based on the definitions above, are we talking sections/parts or tracks?
  16. Ed Seith

How to make seamless transitions between takes

So, when you refer to “Tracks,” are you meaning the individual instrument tracks (correct) or the different parts of the song (intro, verse, chorus, etc). I would think you mean tracks, but the way you describe the issue, it makes me think you mean parts. If you mean tracks, a mild compressor...

Can Someone Do Me A Simple Favor?

It’s not you. The emails did stop, and it was even mentioned by someone in the bugs thread, if I recall. I haven’t gotten any, either.

    Schecter Revenger FR

Any of the Schecter models in that price point are going to be similar. The C6 Pro FR is really nice. Thin C shaped neck will be a fast player. Good choice.
