GUYS... LOOK WHAT SOMEONE DID FOR ME

I noticed this morning that gifting upgrades was an option. @Audentio , you really outdid yourself with this. This was asked for so many times on how students could gift other students upgrades and you did it!
Thank you very much for that! Then I just checked this website and saw that I was fortunate enough to have a kind student gift one to me! I didn't know if they wanted me to make their name public, but I'm sure they will see this forum and if they want to make their name public then they are more than welcome to comment on it. I just wanted to let that student know that I love them so much and after some really serious shit that just happened to me this was definitely a wonderful heartwarming gift. I love you my man and thank you!

Synyster Diamond Series Standard - Best A7X Amp Tones Settings [Boss Katana]

I just received a Synyster Gates Standard Schecter with single coil humbucker pickups, and I would like to play covers of A7X songs across all albums. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions to sound closer to their tones using a Boss Katana MKII amp.

Currently, I think I have figured out the closest City of Evil tone, sounds great for Bat Country, MIA, The Wicked End, etc. For this I am using the Lead amp type, Gain at .3, Bass at .3, Mid at .5, Treble at .75, Delay at .1, Reverb at .4.

I am not too savvy when it comes to messing with amp settings, so I was wondering if anyone had advice for getting a good tone to use for Nightmare, Waking the Fallen, and settings for The Stage. There have been some boss katana patches for A7X that I have tried, but none seemed to really capture their sound when using the syn standard. Any advice is appreciated!!

We want to hear from you!

Hello everyone, hope that you are all doing well!

So, we wanted to take a moment to talk with you about Synner and get some feedback from you. Basically, we are asking all of you to tell us:

- What you think about Synner
- What you would like to see
- What you dislike
- How can we be better

We believe that it's really important to have this open conversation with all of you so that we can truly do our best because in the end, we are all building Synner together!
So, whatever you have to say, feel free to do so with no judgment and if you feel uncomfortable to leave your opinion in the open like this, feel free to send me or any other of the mods a private DM where we will be happy to address your feedback or concerns!

I'm looking forward to hear your thoughts!

What do all these knobs do!!!

Hi! I just got a new-to-me electric guitar from my brother (yay!) and I got a Blackstar amp. I’m really pleased to have them, but I don’t really know what all the settings do. Can anyone explain like I’m five?

I’ve attached some photos.

I can make it sound more distorted if I press the button between gain and volume, and I tried the delay function (fun!).

I don’t know what the knobs on the guitar do other than volume, and I don’t know about the Gain or Equalisation knobs on the amp.

thanks in advance for any info you’ve got 🤗

Upcoming platforms and tools this year

Hey all,

Speaking from engineering side: we've been pretty heads down focusing on app and SynTV and such hence why I haven't had time to post much and why the last Legends webinar was late. Ill let @Radu-Cristian Perde post more about times and expectatons but from my own voice I wanted it known that there may be some wonkiness in the next couple days. This is including but not limited to:
  1. Some bugs here and there are EASILY to be expected :p
  2. Some things might be shown to you that aren't entirely completed yet
  3. You could get booted from your account (just login again if that happens as it likely cleared your cookies)
  4. You might get a notice or email that could maybe not make sense (if this happens maybe let me know but can ignore)
PLEASE NOTE: Do not worry or stress over seeing these bugs. I know holidays can be stressful and drama prone, but unless its officially posted if you're seeing something you think you shouldn't, simply ask (you can tag me or anyone on the team). This should NOT be seen as a lack of communication intentionally and more a lack of time. We have limited resources and I promise you we're doing the best we can.

The goal next year is (if all goes well) to have plenty of exciting things. Its always a bit bumpy getting there when you're a smaller platform like us, but if we trust in each other I'm certain we will get there soon!

Happy holidays all and here is to some dope stuff coming down the pathway soon!!

The Album of the year

This Fall was really great for Metal releases and my Album of the year was definetly one of them. Now I couldn't decide which of those would be the one best Album of this year but I thought I list my top picks and y'all could do the same or give your opinion on the topic.

So here we go:

Spiritbox - Eternal Blue
Ice Nine Kills - Welcome to Horrorwood
Trivium - In the Court of the Dragon
Jinjer - Wallflower
Bullet for my Valentine - self titled
Seether - Si vis Pacem Parabellum
Gojira - Fortitude

If I had to choose an order this would probably be it, although the top 3 are constantly switching. Right now my Top one would be INK. Can't wait to hear your picks! :rock-hand:

Hi, I'm new here

Hi, I'm Cate. I'm new to this website. A friend (@guitar man) recommended that I listen to A7X, and I discovered that I love their music! I've been playing acoustic guitar for two years (self-taught), and last year I got an electric guitar for my birthday. However, I know nothing about playing electric. I'm here to learn and meet other guitarists.
I'm also an Evanescence fan, as you can see from my pfp.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I hope you all get to enjoy it with friends and family today.

This holiday always is a good time to reflect over the year and really think about the things that matter the most.

I’m thankful for everyone here and glad we have a place to learn, shred, and get to know like minded people.

Feel free to share what you are thankful for!

Fretting hand control

I've been playing for 20 months mostly online and I was learning a lick recently and it's making me doubt that I have flying fingers or uncontrolled fretting hand where you fail to keep fingers near the fretboard. I don't know if my fretting technique really is like that or maybe this problem is occurring in this lick only. So I have attached some videos to the thread for you guys to watch and tell me if I really have an uncontrolled fretting hand or maybe it is only happening in that lick. The first 2 videos are of me playing some chromatics and some riffs and licks. The third is where I'm facing the issue of flying fingers especially at higher speeds. I'll include link to the original creator's YouTube video if anyone wants to learn the lick.
Thanks. Youtube video: Login to view embedded media :

Hey everyone, the Legends-only webinar is coming up this Friday, November 19th at 1pm CT with community leaders and Papa Gates! See you guys then!

Community Updates Coming Soon

Hey guys,

Just wanted to send out a quick update about new changes coming to the community! We will be making an adjustment to the user upgrade plans soon and this is simply due to the funds required to keep this site in the amazing shape that it's in while also adding on new features like streaming and the app. If you currently have a user upgrade, don't worry! Your cost won't be changing.

We'll also be reorganizing the upgrade plans a bit. The supporter upgrade will be leaving, but if you are currently a supporter, you'll be upgraded to Legend for a year!

And the Legend package will also be changing with items such as the care package and community webinar being moved to Legend+, our new user upgrade plan. This is simply due to the cost of creating and sending out care packages as that is all done by hand. But if you're currently a Legend, you will be moved up to Legend+ for a year as well!

These won't be changes that will be made immediately, but we will let you know as soon as they happen. I really appreciate everyone's understanding with this as it can take quite a bit to keep a community up to date and continue to add functionality that we know you all will love. If you have any questions please let me or another staff members know and we'd be happy to answer!

Beginners song

I have to learn Mr bright side by the killers for an upcoming jamsession and while I was learning it I realized it's a really good song to work on your picking technique and figured I'd share.

Basically, it repeats the same picking pattern throughout while only having to move one finger for the shapes meaning it's a good exercise to work on inside/outside liking, alternate picking and you can also sweep stuff if you please.

If you have some good beginners songs yourselves, feel free to share!

And remember, have fun!

Can I have some constructive help for my songs mixing/song. (it's unmixed)

Hey guys been a long time hope you are all ok? I was really excited about this song. I paid to get some feedback on a site called submithub and it seems like the song is crap loool. Just wanted to run the song by you guys. I hate being deluded my belief that it is good. Anyway here it is
